Areas of Focus
The Committee focuses on strengthening the connection between education and the workforce, addressing a range of strategic priorities aimed at fostering talent development and improving the alignment between education and labor market needs. Key areas of focus include mapping best practices in collaboration between businesses and educational institutions, promoting tax incentives to encourage investment in workforce training and lifelong learning, and identifying current and future workforce requirements through the development of corporate academies and partnerships with universities.
The Committee also examines initiatives to enhance the quality and effectiveness of internships, strengthen collaboration between businesses and Higher Technological Institutes (ITS Academies), and promote the recognition of academic and professional credits. In addition, it analyzes the differences between the Italian and U.S. PhD systems, as well as the broader Italian and Anglo-Saxon education models, with the objective of identifying policy recommendations and reform proposals that support a more competitive and future-oriented education system.
Next Steps
The Committee will develop a programmatic document outlining policy recommendations, including proposals for tax incentives to support corporate training linked to the acquisition of certified skills. The document will also promote best practices for internships, highlighting their value as an educational experience and their contribution to stronger education and workforce policies.
In addition, the Committee will promote initiatives to strengthen education and career guidance, encouraging greater collaboration between educational institutions and companies to better prepare students for the evolving needs of the labor market.
