A native of Rome, Italy, Giosetta Capriati graduated summa cum laude at Rome University La Sapienza in Humanities; she then attended one year at Brandeis University in Mass. to specialize in Sociology, with both a Wien and a Fulbright Scholarship. Upon her return to Rome, she taught Italian Language and Culture at the Tyler School of Art in Rome of Temple University Abroad and subsequently worked at USIS. Later she moved to New York and in 1980 opened GIOSETTA CONSULTANTS INC., aimed at promoting better understanding between the US and Italy in various fields.
Over the years main “clients” have included the Rizzoli Publishing House, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation in New York and in Venice, Sotheby’s, Philip Morris International, the Italian Space Agency, the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, BNL, Morgan Stanley, Booz Allen Hamilton, the Italian Trade Commission, Pirelli USA, the UN, Fondazione Sicilia, Assicurazioni Generali etc. She has also been a contributor for many years to the Italian Language Paper of New York, AMERICA OGGI.
Since 2011 she has been the Advisor to the President of the Foreign Policy Association, Noel Lateef, to expand its Corporate Membership and its Programs to Europe and Asia, to raise its visibility worldwide and increase FPA relationship with Italy and Italian Government Agencies.
She is also Honorary Representative of the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy; US Delegate MAREVIVO; Member of the International Advisory Board of the Museum of Arts and Design in New York; International Consultant, Fondazione AILA.
In 2016 she was knighted at St. Patrick Cathedral by Cardinal McCurry as Dame of Merit of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George of the Bourbon Household, that dates back to the XVth Century, is recognized by the Italian Government and since 2011 also by the United Nations.
